Cookie Policy
Last updated 12 August 2026
This page lists everything Club-Splaining News stores on your device, why, and how to get rid
of it. "Cookies" here covers cookies and equivalent technologies such as
localStorage, which are treated the same way under the EU ePrivacy Directive
and the UK PECR.
The short version
This deployment sets no cookies at all and runs no analytics or advertising. The only thing stored is your category filter, kept in your browser, which never reaches our servers. We do not use advertising, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, social plugins or cross-site identifiers.
What is stored
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Consent? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cs.filters |
localStorage | Remembers which news categories you switched off, so the feed looks the same next visit. | Until you clear it | Not required — set at your request (functional) |
cs.consent |
localStorage | Records whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we stop asking. | 12 months | Not required — this is the consent record |
Server logs are not cookies
Our web server records each request (IP, time, URL, referrer, user-agent) for security and reliability, for up to 30 days. That is not stored on your device and does not require consent, but you can object — see the Privacy Policy.
Managing your choice
Use at any time to change or withdraw consent. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it, and the site continues to work exactly the same either way.
You can also clear site data through your browser settings, which removes everything listed above. Doing so resets your category filter to "all".
Third parties
Outbound links go to news publishers. Once you click through you are on their site and their cookie practices apply, not ours. We do not embed third-party content, iframes or media players on our own pages.
